Villa Plongeon , Parc des Eaux Vives, Quai Gustave Ador
Geneva
Photograph taken after the lunch, offered by HM King Chulalongkorn, Villa Plongeon
In a letter dated 22nd of February 1897, addressed to the President of Switzerland,
Charles Lardy informed, that His Majesty King Chulalongkorn had been planning his
first trip to Europe.
A villa on the shores of Lake Geneva in either Lausanne or Geneva was searched.
Finally the Villa Plongeon in Geneva was selected since it offered both seclusion
and a beautiful view.
Hint :
As this is a five star hotel / restaurant, you may want to go there in the afternoon, enjoying the view with a cup of
coffee or tea. This can easily be done if you don't have a royal budget ;-)
