This is somehow a final version of all of our semiconductor component tester projects. It is
bipolar, can handle Drain - Source (Collector - Emitter) currents up to 999 mA and voltages
of +/- 9.999 V. Base Current is in the Range of +/- 5 mA.
The final Design in a KOH-4 case. A Python Script handles the Data Management.
✈ The Block Diagram / Function Description
Yes, not much inside. The outputs mainly use this unipolar to bipolar
converter circuit. In the case of the Drain output with a buffer amplifier (OPA 544) to handle
the large current. In the case of the Base output, an INA 118 (Instrumentation Amplifier)
translates the voltage across a 1 kΩ shunt resistor to a ground referenced voltage
and by that generates an output current of +/- 5 mA. All other outputs are in the range
of +/- 10 V. A temperature sensor (LM35), mounted on the heatsink, allows for periodically
checks on the fitness of the setup.
